Sonae (UK) can be appointed with confidence to undertake the role of Principal Designer as defined within the CDM Regulations 2015 to take the lead in planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating health and safety during the pre-construction phase of the project.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & PLANNING

Resource loaded programmes using industry standard software Primavera and MS project can be produced as part of our comprehensive project management services.
Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value and Planned Value Analysis shall be undertaken at pre-determined stages throughout the project. The effective planning and programming of projects through all stages ensures successful delivery to agreed time and budget.
The implementation of our document control system ensure contractual control of information transmittal and transfer during the project. Services include typically the document distribution, retention and collection, collation of all documentation required for handover & commissioning and the preparation and handover of the Health and Safety file in accordance with contract and CDM regulations 2015.
Our project management team have considerable experience in the delivery of projects under the NEC3 suite of contracts.

Our site supervisors are highly skilled, qualified and experienced personnel capable of delivering all aspects of electrical, control and instrumentation projects. Duties include typically the management of site safety, compliance with client standards and procedures, SHE audits and inspections, daily allocation sheet records maintained, liaison with client stakeholders, handover documentation, RAMS review, Design updates, CDM Risk Register updates and maintain knowledge of current safety legislation ie confined space, PUWER, LOLER, working at height etc.

The E&I Installation can be complemented by our Design services, meaning Sonae (UK) can perform Design & Build projects, along with procurement providing a full Turn-key solution.
Sonae (UK) is a member of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), the authoritative body representing the Electrical and Instrumentation Contracting Industry in the private sector.
In addition to the above, Sonae (UK) is registered as both an approved contractor and hazardous area contractor with the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
Sonae (UK) provide a comprehensive range of electrical and instrumentation projects, including installation of electrical/instrument equipment and components, erection of cable support systems, installation of site cabling, glanding and terminating, installation of instrumentation pipework, hookups, pre-calibration of instruments, earthing and lightning protection, inspection, loop checking and pre-commissioning.

QUALITY DELIVERED AS STANDARD
Operating from our Sunderland premises, an industrial workshop facility with over 70m² floor space available, Sonae (UK) can provide a comprehensive range of custom-built control panels from lighting control panels to switchgear and Motor Control Centres.
Our workforce of skilled tradespersons comprising panel wireman and technicians can deliver a quality product to client specifications, standards and delivery deadlines.
All control panels are fully tested and inspected including customer FAT acceptance test in compliance with Sonae (UK) ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management procedures.
CE Marking of control panels to apply as defined under the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and ElectroMagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC).
Packaging and shipment of control panels to be determined based on the shipment type and weight. Control Panels to be delivered with a full suite of document test results and as-built drawing records.
COMPETENCY IN COMPLIANCE
Our hazardous area inspection services provide assistance with the compliance of electrical and instrument installations in potentially explosive atmospheres for new and existing plant and equipment.
Sonae (UK) highly trained and experienced CompEx qualified inspection engineers, technicians and electricians deliver DSEAR / ATEX inspection and maintenance services for clients requiring support with their inspection and maintenance objectives for asset integrity.
DSEAR inspections carried out by engineers CompEx qualified for explosive gases and vapours, intrinsically safe systems and combustible dusts in accordance with BS EN 60079-17.
Our CompEx qualified inspectors deliver comprehensive hazardous area inspection schedules and inspection reports, advising on corrective action where necessary to ensure compliance with the latest international standards, codes and practices.
DSEAR Registers shall be updated to reflect any equipment installed in, modified or removed from a hazardous area. Registers shall identify the installed zone, protection class of device and location as a minimum requirement.
DSEAR Risk Assessments carried out to identify the potential risk / dangerous substances in the workplace and the control measures required to mitigate the risk identified.
COMMISSIONING WITH CONFIDENCE

Preparation of commissioning documentation comprising commissioning plans, inspection and test plans, test reports and training manuals.
Sonae (UK) have the in-house capabilities of reviewing P&ID diagrams and provide strategies to commission plant and equipment into existing processes in line with client specification requirements without compromising operational process plant and reducing downtime.

CATHODIC PROTECTION

Sonae (UK) provide cathodic protection solutions to high-pressure gas pipelines. Our aim is to protect the safety, long life and integrity of client assets by providing the highest quality, affordable corrosion control solutions and products.
Our cathodic protection team is comprised of highly skilled, qualified and experienced personnel capable of providing all aspects of cathodic protection systems.
Operating in the highly regulated gas utilities sector, our cathodic protection team are aware and fully adhere to the operational and documentation requirements.
Our site services include the installation, pin braizing, commissioning and the maintenance of both sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection systems.
Site surveys are carried out for soil resistivity, current drain, pre and post installation electrical checks on insulation joints, groundbed location, CIPS, DCVG, AC corrosion monitoring, mitigation and routine monitoring.
Provision of cathodic protection data records upon completion comprising test point locations, readings, TR unit and groundbed locations as a minimum requirement.
SOURCING RESPONSIBLY
Prior to entry onto the company approved vendor list (AVL), suppliers and sub-contractors are required to complete a Supplier Assessment questionnaire to evaluate technical competency, SHE accreditations, insurance cover and financial standing.
In addition to the above, suppliers and sub-contractors are required to confirm compliance with the ‘Supplier Code of Conduct’ incorporating Anti-bribery and other measures of social, legal and financial responsibility.
Sonae (UK) suite of standard forms of contract contain provisions to permit the audit of compliance with the above and the right to terminate such agreements if the supplier or sub-contractor is found to be in breach or non-compliant.

MINOR CIVILS & GROUNDWORKS
Sonae (UK) are able to undertake minor civil works and groundwork projects to client specified requirements. All work is carried out to the highest standard and conforms to local authority and client specification requirements.
Our minor civil works engineering team specialise in servicing minor civils, building and maintenance works.
Site services include the installation of buried cable ducts, drawpits, concrete surface duct and reinforced concrete bases to accommodate the electrical and instrumentation installation works.
