Job Description
To carry out electrical and instrument installation works within potentially explosive atmosphere (hazardous area environments) at various gas distribution sites within the United Kingdom. Carry out DSEAR inspection to BS EN 60079-17 including the production of red-line marked as-built documentation and test records.
To report progress to site management and project lead on a daily basis for resource planning and commercial management purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical and Instrument installation works within hazardous area environments.
- Isolation and removal of redundant electrical equipment.
- Fault finding and investigation of control systems
- Control Panel Manufacture
- Read and understand control panel schematics.
- Carry out inspection and testing to BS7671.
- Carry out DSEAR inspection to BS EN 60079-17.
- Assistance to client representative during commissioning.
- Production of red-line marked as-built documentation and test records.
- Technical appraisal of design documentation and raise any issues identified to project lead.
- Communication with client in a professional manner as required by the company.
- Reporting of progress on a daily basis to site management and project lead.
- Cooperation and assistance with preparation of RAMS.
- Ensure all site rules are followed maintaining a safe system of work.
- Maintain a good company image at all times.
- Ensure good quality workmanship to company standard as a minimum.
- Comply fully with the company policy and procedures.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and guidelines applicable to the role.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of client standard specifications.
- Commitment to further training and development courses.
Person Specificaion
Essential Qualifications
- Apprenticeship
- City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
- COMPEX EX01-04
- EUSR Safety Passport (Mandatory – Training provided by employer)
- A relevant electrical qualification (BTEC, C&G or equivalent )
Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 5 years industrial electrician experience
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience of industrial control systems and E&I installations
- Experience of working in (Potentially Explosive Atmosphere) Hazardous Area Environments
